Meet us in Yerevan

We are getting married in Armenia, and we want you there for two whole days: first around a table at the family house in Old Norq, then high above the city, with an orchestra, a dance floor, and Yerevan glowing below.

This page has everything you need: the programme, how to get there, where to stay, and how to tell us you are coming. If anything is unclear, write to us. We will answer fast.

An open evening at the family house in Old Norq, the old orchard district on Yerevan's eastern hill. Come as you are, meet the family, eat and drink well, and let Armenia start to feel like home.

Saturday 7 November

Saghmosavank · Livingston

An afternoon at a 13th century monastery on the edge of a gorge, in the gold light of an Armenian autumn. Then back to the city for a welcome drink, dinner, a jazz orchestra, and dancing until late.

Hayk grew up beneath one mountain; Noemi between many. Different horizons, same habit: you lift your eyes, and you are home.

Pomegranate & edelweiss

The pomegranate blesses every Armenian table with abundance; the edelweiss grows where only the stubborn climb; the lily of the valley rings in French luck each May. We are planting all three at one table.

Stone & thread

Armenian carvers braided eternity into tuf stone; the embroiderers of St. Gallen braided it into thread. Two crafts, one instruction: weave it so it holds.

Old Norq

The family house

The old garden district on the hill above Yerevan, where the family home stands among orchards. From here you can see the whole city, the TV tower, and on a clear day, Ararat itself. This is where the celebration begins, the way Armenian celebrations always have: at home.

Saghmosavank

The monastery of psalms

Built in the 13th century on the very rim of the Kasagh Gorge, about 40 minutes from Yerevan. In early November the gorge still wears its copper and gold, and the afternoon light there is the kind photographers wait all year for. We will be there for exactly that hour.

Livingston

Dinner, orchestra & dancing

On the 9th floor of the Karen Demirchyan Complex, a building designed to look like a bird opening its wings. The restaurant is named after Jonathan Livingston Seagull, the seagull who refused to fly like all the others. Dinner on top of Yerevan, then music until late.

Yerevan is closer than you think

Flights

From Paris: direct flights with Air France and FlyOne Armenia (CDG), Transavia (Orly) and Wizz Air (Beauvais). About 4h40 in the air.

From Geneva: direct flights with easyJet and Wizz Air.

From Zurich: one stop, usually via Vienna or Frankfurt. Direct flights also from Memmingen and Milan.

The airport

Zvartnots International (EVN) is Yerevan's airport, 20 to 30 minutes from the center by taxi.

Order a taxi with the GG or Yandex Go apps, or take an official taxi from the arrivals hall. A ride to the center costs just a few francs or euros.

Visa

None needed. French and Swiss citizens enter Armenia visa free for up to 180 days. Your passport just needs to be valid for the whole stay.

Rules can change, so give the official sources a quick check before you fly.

Safety

Armenia is one of the safest countries in the world: 9th on the Numbeo Safety Index for 2026, ahead of Japan, Singapore and Iceland. Yerevan is a city where you can walk anywhere, at any hour.

Getting around

The center of Yerevan is compact and walkable. For everything else, taxis via GG or Yandex Go are everywhere, reliable, and inexpensive.

For the wedding day itself, transportation between the city, Saghmosavank and Livingston is organized for our foreign guests. We will send the meeting point.

Make Yerevan your home

Stay in Kentron, the walkable heart of the city and the easiest base for both evenings. Three rules are all you need.

Yerevan's central district. Everything on foot: Republic Square, the Opera, the Cascade, and the shortest rides to both of our evenings.

Search "Yerevan Kentron" on Booking.com and filter by 8.5 and above. The city's boutique hotels are excellent and fairly priced.

Before you arrive

Small things that help

Weather

Early November in Yerevan is crisp and often clear. Around 10 to 14°C in the day, close to freezing after dark. Bring a warm layer for the monastery and the evening.

Money

The currency is the Armenian dram (AMD). Cards work almost everywhere in the center, but carry a little cash for markets and small places.

Language

Armenian first, Russian widely spoken, English common in hotels, restaurants and with anyone under 35. A warm "barev dzez" opens every door.

The light

The sun sets around 5:10 pm in early November. If you arrive a day early, walk up the Cascade at golden hour. You will understand why we chose this city.
